Our 2nd Featured Artist from our SSA22 2024 Summer Residence is:
Ariella Heise
Ariella spent the beginning of her summer apprenticing at the Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover, VT. While oil painting is Ariella’s primary medium, she wanted to apply the lessons she learned at Bread and Puppet in this summer residency by creating a puppet show.
Challenging herself to portray overarching themes of human experience in context using a portable puppet show format, she’s creating within a timeline, using inexpensive materials, and finding how to produce short and longer format performances to engage audiences in deeper reflection.
